About Us
Hello from Hot Plants LLC! We provide design, installation and garden caretaking services that have a positive impact — for our clients and for the environment. We understand the value of functional and enjoyable outdoor spaces and believe that gardens, no matter the size, can contribute to building healthy soil, growing food and medicine, protecting biodiversity, and expanding pollinator habitat in our region.
We work with residential, commercial and institutional clients to create landscapes that respond to and engage with all the different life forms that inhabit the space. What this means practically is an in-depth study of your land and local ecosystems, design and installations that showcase the beautiful native plants from our area, and always using best practices for holistic land care. While our designs are inspired by nature’s systems, we collaborate closely with each client to make sure garden projects meet their needs and bring to life their desired results.

Services
Our services are designed to bring the natural world home. We design around the specific needs and patterns of your land and provide creative solutions to common problems like drainage or poor soil quality. Our thoughtfully designed landscapes mean your site can flourish. By building lasting relationships with our clients, we empower you to understand and interact with your landscape as you deepen your role as an environmental steward. All design and install projects start with an on-site consultation.
Â
Design
My design process begins by getting to know my clients needs and their unique landscapes. My aim is to create gardens that bring joy and connection to clients, while also supporting local wildlife and highlighting the natural beauty of a site.
Installation
Installations can include a complete redesign of your garden or small changes and additions to enliven an existing garden. You can trust that your garden will be planted using organic practices to ensure the health of your landscape.
Â
Land Care
Regular maintenance ensures the health and sustainability of a garden. We offer a variety of packages to fit your needs and budget, so you can relax and enjoy your garden, knowing that it’s in good hands.
Education
Plant nerds unite! I love sharing my knowledge and experience with others through workshops, curricula and one-on-one coaching. I can customize programs to meet your specific needs, so you can learn at your own pace, on your own time.
Â
Invasive Species Management
Invasive species removal and a comprehensive management plan is a necessary step to ensure the biodiverse plants in your landscape can thrive. We can help control aggressive plants on your property using a variety of interventions.
Consultations
Consultations include an in-person visit where we will discuss your vision and walk through your site, so I can provide expert recommendations based on your space's potential. A consultation is a great way to get guidance and ideas for next steps. All design and install projects start with an on-site consultation.

What Clients Are Saying
Working with Arielle and her team at Hot Plants has been an absolute joy! She worked with my husband and I to design and plant a gorgeous tree line on our property that perfectly blends our practical needs with the natural beauty we’d been dreaming of. Arielle truly collaborated with us every step of the way, creating something that not only looks incredible today but will continue to grow and evolve into the robust little forest we envision for the years ahead. We’re so grateful for her creativity, care, and expertise—and we can’t wait to keep partnering with her as we bring our property dreams to life!

Featured Work
Privacy Hedge in Kingston, NY
Ulster County, NY
Clients wanted privacy from two busy streets that hug their corner lot. Rather than installing a homogenous, evergreen hedge, we played with shape, texture and seasonality to create a mixed hedge that offered year-round privacy without sacrificing interest and color.
Garden Renovation in Elizaville, NY
Columbia County, NY
Clients wanted to refresh overgrown and weedy garden beds at their home and acupuncture clinic. We redesigned and replanted garden beds, using a mix of existing plants and new additions, that screened unsightly utilities, improved way-finding to the clinic and supported a calm, inviting atmosphere for patients and visitors.
Pollinator Gardens in Philmont, NY
Columbia County, NY
Client wanted to add more seasonal color and blooms to her site, with special attention paid to plants that support insects and birds. We installed low-maintenance foundation plantings for her front yard and a vibrant backyard, pollinator-supporting, cut-flower garden. A native meadow is in process and will be seeded in Spring ‘26. All plant choices emphasize habitat creation, visual beauty and year-round interest.
Kitchen Garden in Valatie, NY
Columbia County, NY
With the guidance of master gardener and landscaper Noah LaPoint, we created a season-long crop plan for growing veggies, herbs and cut flowers for clients’ use and enjoyment. We employed succession sowing and season extension techniques to ensure a continuous, bountiful harvest all season long. Crop plans were tailored to client’s dietary and aesthetic preferences.
Home Orchard in Tivoli, NY
Dutchess County, NY
Client wanted to transform her new construction into a vibrant, productive edible landscape that reminded her of her ancestral home. We planted fruit trees and fruiting shrubs, like currants, gooseberries and blueberries, to create an edible hedge on the east side of her site. Additional herbs and shrubs create an aromatic oasis around the outdoor kitchen and deck.
